So you know what’s here…
We’re about love…about knowing that value of encouraging one another…though love.
Main top menu shows everything, why we are here!
… ALL TITLES – page shows all the articles on this site
… BLOG EXCERPTS – gives a sense of each blog page.
Please note, this is not a medical site, nor a ‘how-to’ site. However, authors do share experiences that will unmask the unfamiliar in the world of caregiving.
We support caregivers, especially those
who care for loved ones with dementia diseases.
We encourage becoming lifelines for one another.i
All caregivers are heroes
“Heroes…ordinary individuals who find the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” ~ Christopher Reeve
“Every caregiving experience is different, but behind every caregiver story is a moment —a moment when you realize that the care and love you are called to provide can’t help but change you in every way possible.”
~ Donna Thomson, Zachary White, The Unexpected Journey of Caring
What you might find here:
Let yourself ‘feel good’ for the time you are here. Allow this time for respite, a mental escape, when you cannot physically go anywhere else.
1. CAREGIVER THOUGHTS & EXPERIENCES
See All Titles.
Browse our menu of stories, articles. Caregiver Knowledge includes educational resource links, caregiver tips, music, exercises, suggested Caregiver Activities. Discover support suggestions. Feel encouraged by the desire from the authors who reach out to share their life stories.

2. GUEST AUTHORS
See Guest Authors.
There are so many of us giving care to loved ones, and, in a variety of circumstances. Our caregiving lives ‘look’ nothing alike. Therefore, I have loved reading about the experiences of other caregivers, understanding the heart that they put into their own lives and stories. I am so grateful for our Guest Authors.

3. CAREGIVER BOOKS
Two-book series Accepting the Gift of Caregiving, Part One, Is There Any Ice Cream? Surviving the Challenges of Caregiving for a Loved One with Alzheimer’s, Anxiety and COPD, (2019) includes initially learning and activities we were in to stay healthy and socially involved in life, through the emotional and desperate times of our journey.
Part Two, Did You Hide the Cookies? Inescapable Heartaches of Caregiving for My Love with lzheimer’s, Anxiety, and COPD, where I reveal the later years of our journey…my resistance, my acceptance.

If
(1) you feel experiences are a way of learning about the world of caregiving, then
(2) you will resonate with the emotional stories of our journey, as they help you ease into the caregiver you never intended to become. ~jas Visit the book page.
4. ENCOURAGEMENT:
As host, I ask READERS TO SUPPORT two local organizations that are essential to the well being of those caring for loved ones with forms of dementia. Alzheimer Society and Acclaim Health are mentioned below and on several other pages, in appreciation.
NOTE:
This blog is not sponsored by, nor does it receive funds from, any outside source. We just believe in the work that these two organizations do for our community and hope you will find them, consider their services, donate to their efforts and be grateful, like we are, that those who are associated with them are among us. 💕

Acclaim Health– Oakville, Ontario
The work of these two local dementia and Alzheimer related and community health organizations have been instrumental in our life related to memory loss and the associated aging issues caregivers come to know well.
PLEASE, if you have been supported by the services of these groups, or in some way your life was touched in a meaningful way, please, consider a donation. 🥰
We visit this blog daily. Leave a note to tell me you stopped by! Come back soon!

Each day do something to make others smile and your heart sing! -jas

Hi Caroline, I, too, am excited you found this site … honoured because of the Theta connection …and also because I hope you will find a gem or two here to put in your own caregiver toolbox.
We caregivers learn from one another…our best teachers are each other! Yes, we in ‘that certain age’ need all the help we can get…support is a blessing and can work both ways! Your parents are fortunate to have you two girls! Maybe you’ll share a ‘Tip’ for our Caregiver Tips page!
Thank you for letting me know you were here. 🥰Stay in touch and share this site if you know other caregivers. – (Judy Allen Shone, Gamma Iota UK 1960-1964)
